1、 Customer background

Repair paint masterbatch factory, light silver 1K base paint; Feedback from the sheet metal spraying workshop: With the same formula, there is a significant difference in the effectiveness of spraying by different craftsmen; The front is bright, the side is dark, and there is a significant color difference at the transition position of the joint. The new and old panels do not match under sunlight, making color matching difficult. The original formula CAB-381-0.5 only contains 1.5 portions, which is too low to effectively constrain the distribution of aluminum powder; The solvent evaporation gradient is unreasonable, causing the aluminum sheet to float and flip.

2、 Adjustment plan

1. CAB-381-0.5 has been increased from 1.5 parts to 4.2 parts without any additional increase to prevent the paint film from becoming brittle.

2. Fine tuning of solvent system: increase the proportion of butyl acetate, reduce the proportion of fast drying xylene, moderately extend the volatilization window, and give sufficient time for aluminum sheets to be oriented and arranged.

3. Replace the aluminum silver paste with non floating aluminum paste specifically designed for automotive repair; Fine tuning of dispersants to improve the wetting of aluminum paste.

4. On site construction specifications: spray gun diameter 1.3-1.4mm, air pressure 1.5bar; Thin spraying with multiple layers is prohibited, and thick spraying is not allowed at once.

3、 Effect verification

Parallel arrangement of aluminum sheets, significant improvement in FLOP values with different colors at the corners, and significant weakening of the positive and negative surfaces; The color difference of the transition between the ports is controllable, and the rework rate decreases.

Accelerate surface drying and reduce poor dust particles in the paint booth; Clear varnish without biting the bottom.
