Cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB-381-2) is a cellulose ester with high butyryl content and very high viscosity. In addition to high viscosity and high molecular weight, this cellulose ester also possesses the properties of CAB-381-0.1 and CAB-381-0.5, as well as the solubility, compatibility, water resistance, excellent surface hardness, and good surface strength of CAB-381-2. It is a flowable powder.

Medium viscosity, high film-forming strength and surface hardness

381 series medium viscosity grade with higher molecular weight; The hardness, abrasion resistance, and wear resistance of the paint film are better than CAB-381-0.5; The viscosity of the solution is too high, and adding it will significantly increase the viscosity of the system, making it unsuitable for high solid content formulations.

Excellent directional ability of metallic pigments

Can promote the orderly arrangement of aluminum powder and pearl pigments, enhancing the sparkling effect of metallic paint; Inhibit floating color and flowering; Compared to low viscosity models, it is mainly used for systems that require coating strength.

Construction and drying performance control

Accelerate solvent evaporation and shorten surface drying time; Improve leveling, reduce shrinkage and orange peel; Improve the anti adhesion, water and moisture resistance of the paint film; It has the effect of anti biting bottom and anti-seepage color.

Weather resistant and yellowing resistant, thermoplastic system

Good UV stability, not prone to yellowing or powdering outdoors; Low hydroxyl content, pure thermoplastic, does not participate in cross-linking reactions, and it is not recommended to use a two-component PU baking paint system.

Good solubility and resin compatibility

Soluble in ketone and ester solvents, capable of accommodating some hydrocarbon diluents; Excellent compatibility with thermoplastic acrylic and nitro resins, with clear solutions.
