CAB 381 0.5 Wood Paint Complete Solution

Applicable: solvent based wood paint, single component self drying acrylic/nitro, two-component PU wood topcoat, color correction transparent paint, metal effect wood paint; Indoor furniture, outdoor doors and windows wooden components; Benchmarking against Eastman CAB 381 0.5, addressing pain points such as slow drying, dust sticking, re coating biting, wood tannin bleeding, uneven leveling, brush marks, outdoor yellowing, and metallic discoloration.  

Positioning: Modified auxiliary film-forming material; Not recommended as the main resin; Waterborne wood paint cannot be directly added.

1、 CAB 381 0.5 in the core function of wood paint

1. Accelerate solvent release, shorten flash drying/surface drying, reduce dust adhesion during assembly line spraying, thin coating is less likely to stick fingerprints, and improve coating efficiency.

2. Reapply anti biting base: The base color/color correction layer forms a dense film, which prevents solvent dissolution, biting, and color bleeding when applying PU varnish, and suppresses the floating and color bleeding of wood tannins and pigments.

3. Leveling and appearance: Improve spray leveling, reduce orange peel, pinholes, and brush marks; The paint film is highly transparent and not foggy; Metal/pearl wood paint achieves pigment orientation and eliminates both positive and negative aspects of hair growth.

4. Weather resistance and yellowing resistance: superior to NC nitro, outdoor wood products delay UV aging and yellowing, improving color retention.

5. Polishing performance: The dry film is easy to polish, and the polishing of high gloss topcoat is effortless; Moderately increase surface hardness; Pay attention to adding too much paint film, which may become brittle and prone to cracking.

6. Resin compatibility: compatible with thermoplastic acrylic acid, hydroxy acrylic acid, alcohol acid, PU system; Butyl group 38%, low viscosity suitable for high solid content formulations.

2、 Production feeding sequence

1. Mix the resin and some solvent evenly;

2. Add pre prepared CAB mother liquor and stir for 10-15 minutes;

3. Add dispersant, color paste/aluminum silver paste, stir the metallic color at low speed, do not sand and grind the aluminum sheet at high speed;

4. Add leveling, defoaming, and UV additives;

5. Adjust viscosity and filter out the material.
