1、 CAB 381 0.5 core function in repairing base paint

1. Aluminum powder/pearl orientation: Guide the aluminum sheet to be arranged parallel to the substrate, improve the flop effect, reduce the occurrence of positive and negative surfaces and particle discoloration, and minimize the color difference between the repaired parts and the original vehicle.

2. Control solvent evaporation gradient: accelerate surface drying (reducing touch drying by about 25%), reduce paint adhesion, quickly set wet film, and suppress sagging, shrinkage, and orange peel.

3. Anti biting bottom (preventing the base color from being bitten by the varnish solvent): The base paint forms a dense barrier, which does not swell or flower when applying the varnish, and is the most critical performance point for repair.

4. Interlayer adhesion and polishing properties: The interlayer bonding of the base color and varnish is stable; Easy to polish and polish after drying, suitable for sheet metal spraying and quick repair conditions; Weather resistant and yellowing resistant.

5. Compatibility: Compatible with thermoplastic acrylic acid and hydroxy acrylic PU systems, soluble in ester and ketone solvents, and can be partially combined with a small amount of CAB 551 0.2 to fine tune flexibility.

2、 Key points of production process

1. Prioritize pre preparing 15-20% CAB mother liquor and do not directly pour dry powder into the large tank to prevent clumping.

2. First, mix the resin, solvent, and CAB mother liquor evenly; Add dispersant again, add aluminum silver paste, stir at low speed for 10-15 minutes, do not sand at high speed to avoid crushing the aluminum sheet.

3. Afterwards, add leveling, defoaming, and UV additives to adjust the viscosity and filter out the material.

4. Storage should be sealed and moisture-proof. CAB is prone to moisture absorption, which can cause poor dissolution and paint film defects.

3、 Usage restrictions and precautions

1. CAB 381 0.5 is used for base paint and it is not recommended to add a large amount of PU varnish; A small amount of 1 or 2 parts in the varnish can improve surface dryness, but too much can reduce crosslinking density and chemical resistance.

2. Do not share with strong acid-base systems, as it may cause CAB degradation and discoloration.

3. Domestic CAB 381 0.5 benchmark Eastman, butyryl 38%, viscosity index aligned; Before production, it is necessary to conduct a small test: storage stability, interlayer adhesion, cold and hot cycling, water resistance, weather resistance, and actual spray comparison to compare the color difference of the original vehicle panels.

4. This system is solvent based and not suitable for pure water-based repair paint; The water-based system adopts the CMCAB series.
